Amnesty International Thailand Human Rights Media Awards 2021, Outstanding online news or feature story, for “What Happened to Wanchalearm?” (Collaboration between New Naratif, Prachatai and VOD, 2021)

Society of Publishers in Asia, Honorable Mention for Excellence in Reporting on Women’s Issues, for “In Myanmar, a Nonprofit Icon Enjoyed Foreign Funding Despite Allegations of Sexual Abuse” (VICE, 2020)

Judge comment: “Ground-breaking reporting on an extremely difficult subject. A deeply reported story looking at how a gender equality advocate at a nonprofit in Myanmar was able to sexually harass and assault women for years. By showcasing the victims' stories and drawing on research, the story showed the alleged failure by the US embassy and a UN agency to prevent abuses, reflecting systemic gaps in safeguarding mechanisms common within local nonprofits in the developing world.”

Society of Publishers in Asia, Honorable Mention for Excellence in Opinion Writing, for “Aung San Suu Kyi is making wartime rape easier to commit” (Coconuts, 2017)

Judge comment: “Arguing persuasively and with passion, Jacob Goldberg shows the power of excellent opinion writing to challenge the powerful to live up to their ideals.”
